Luciano Laspina

Luciano Laspina is an Argentine economist specializing in macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and public policy. His professional career combines academic work, economic management, experience in the financial system, and a decade of legislative work, as well as sustained involvement in analyzing Argentina’s major economic and institutional challenges.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the National University of Rosario and a master’s degree in economics from the University of CEMA. Before joining Congress, he served as chief economist and CFO of Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires from 2008 to 2015. At the same time, he pursued an academic career and currently teaches at the Torcuato Di Tella University Business School.

He served as a national representative from 2015 to 2025. During his time in Congress, he chaired the Chamber of Deputies’ Budget and Finance Committee from 2015 to 2019 and the Bicameral Committee on Tax Reform from 2016 to 2017. He is also the author of *Unraveling Argentina: Diagnoses and Proposals to Break the Decline*, published by Penguin Random House in 2023.

He currently serves as Executive Director of CIPPEC, an independent, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and the formulation of public policy recommendations. In this capacity, he participates in debates related to economic and institutional development, drawing on his academic background and experience in economic analysis, financial management, legislative work, and public policy design.
