Luciana Aymar is an Argentine former field field hockey player, considered one of the best players in the history of the sport. Aymar is known for her exceptional skill, speed and dexterity on the field, earning her the nickname "La Maga" (The Wizard).
Luciana Aymar began her career at Fisherton field hockey club, before joining Jockey Club de Rosario and then GEBA in Buenos Aires. She made her debut with the Argentine national team, Las Leonas, in 1997. During her career, Aymar helped lead the team to numerous international successes, standing out for her leadership and individual skills.
Among her main achievements, Aymar won two Olympic silver medals (Sydney 2000 and London 2012) and two bronze medals (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008). She was instrumental in winning two World Cups (Perth 2002 and Rosario 2010) and six Champions Trophies. He also contributed to winning seven gold medals in the Pan American Games.
On an individual level, Aymar was chosen as the World's Best Player on eight occasions (2001, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013), a record that highlights her dominance in the sport. Her ability to handle the ball and her vision of the game made her a unique player who is admired around the world.
