Juan Manuel Santos Calderón is a Colombian politician, economist, and professor, recognized worldwide for having served as President of the Republic of Colombia for two terms (2010–2018) and, above all, for having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016. Santos comes from one of Colombia’s most traditional families, with ties to journalism (his family founded the newspaper El Tiempo) and politics.
