His career has established him as a leading figure in the fields of macroeconomics and applied economics in Argentina.
Throughout his career, De Pablo combined teaching with research and consulting. He served as chief economist at the Latin American Economic Research Foundation (FIEL) from 1965 to 1975, and has taught at leading universities such as the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the University of San Andrés (UDESA), and the University of CEMA (UCEMA), where he was awarded an honorary doctorate. His approach is distinguished by its emphasis on the analysis of actual economic policy, arguing that the field should be understood through the concrete decisions made by people and governments, and not merely through abstract models.
