Biography / Speaker Info
Toni Kroos is a former German footballer, universally acknowledged as one of the best midfielders of his generation and a master of play organization. Born in Greifswald, in the former East Germany in 1990, his career is a tale of consistent success, tactical discipline and such unerring passing accuracy that it earned him the nickname "Sniper". Throughout his career, Kroos combined German solidity with the technical elegance of modern soccer, redefining the midfield position through intelligence and absolute control of the pace of the game.
Kroos began his soccer development in the youth ranks at Hansa Rostock before being signed by Bavarian giants Bayern Munich at the age of 16. After a productive loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen, he returned to Bayern to establish himself at the elite level and win multiple domestic and international titles, including his first UEFA Champions League in the 2012-2013 season as part of the club's historic treble. His precision, tactical vision and temperament made him stand out from a very young age, being awarded the Golden Ball as the best player of the 2007 U-17 World Cup.
The turning point of his career came in 2014, when he signed for Real Madrid C. F. For a decade, at the white club, he was part of a legendary midfield that dominated European soccer. With Real Madrid, he conquered a historic record, being one of the players with the most Champions League titles in the history of soccer, adding a total of six "Orejonas" (five with Real Madrid and one with Bayern). At the international level, he was a key player for the German National Team, with which he won the World Cup in Brazil 2014 and played a total of 114 matches.
After a decade of success in Spain, and with 33 collective titles to his credit, Kroos announced his retirement from professional soccer in 2024. His honors list includes the World Cup, multiple league titles in Germany and Spain, and six Champions League titles, a record matched only by Real Madrid legends.
