Gianluigi Buffon is a professional footballer. He is a recognized sportsman and a reference for being part of the most important competitions.
He has been part of teams such as Parma Football Club and Juventus FC where he won nineteen national titles (nine Serie A, one Serie B, four Italian Cups and five Italian Super Cups). With the Italian national soccer team he participated in four European Championships and five editions of the World Cup. His team won the 2006 World Cup in Germany, defeating the French team in the final.
Among his awards, he has been named as the World's Best Goalkeeper on five occasions by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. He has also won several individual titles such as the Lev Yashin Award, the Silver Ball, the Goalkeeper of the Year in Serie A, among others.
