Jordan Belfort

Jordan Belfort is an American motivational speaker, author, and former stockbroker whose life and financial downfall became world-famous following the publication of his autobiography, *The Wolf of Wall Street*. He is a polarizing figure whose career is associated with excess and fraud in the world of high finance.

He graduated with a degree in biology from American University, though his career path quickly led him into the ambitious and ruthless world of Wall Street. His career as a stockbroker began at the firm L.F. Rothschild, but it was his subsequent founding of Stratton Oakmont that marked his meteoric rise. Through Stratton Oakmont, Belfort built a financial empire based on stock market manipulation, securities fraud, and money laundering, living a life of luxury and excess that drew the attention of federal authorities.

After being charged and convicted of stock manipulation, Belfort cooperated with the FBI and served a prison sentence. It was during his incarceration that he discovered his calling as a writer, chronicling his life in two autobiographical books: *The Wolf of Wall Street* and *Catching the Wolf of Wall Street*. These books became international bestsellers, translated into multiple languages, and recount in detail his life of unbridled ambition, fraud, and extravagance.

Jordan Belfort’s story gained even greater cultural prominence in 2013, when it was adapted for the big screen by director Martin Scorsese in the acclaimed film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Belfort subsequently turned his experience into a career as a motivational speaker. Through his seminars, he teaches his sales system, the “Straight Line System,” aiming to educate professionals and companies on sales, entrepreneurship, and business development.
