Carme Artigas

Carme Artigas is a Spanish executive, entrepreneur, and specialist in artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, and technological innovation. With more than three decades of experience, her career has spanned entrepreneurship, business leadership, public administration, regulation, and participation in international organizations involved in the development and governance of new technologies.

She holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Sarrià Institute of Chemistry and supplemented her education with studies in industrial management and venture capital. After holding various executive positions, she co-founded Synergic Partners, a European pioneer in Big Data and Data Science. She led the company as CEO until its acquisition by Telefónica and subsequently played a role in its integration into the group.

In 2020, she was appointed Spain’s Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, a position she held until December 2023. In that role, she was involved in policies related to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and digital rights. She later co-chaired the United Nations High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence and contributed to the international report *Governing AI for Humanity*.

In September 2026, he joined Nazca as an Operating Partner. He is also active in academia and research as a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he focuses on artificial intelligence and geopolitics. His background enables him to analyze the technological revolution from business, regulatory, and geopolitical perspectives, addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence, data, innovation, and business transformation.
