Who is Carolina Amoroso?
Carolina Amoroso is a prominent Argentine journalist, presenter, and writer, renowned for her work as a war correspondent and her deep commitment to international journalism. Born in Brandsen in 1985, her nomadic childhood, which included living in Venezuela and Ecuador due to her father's work, instilled in her an early sense of displacement and a passion for global realities—elements that define her professional career and her sensitivity when covering conflicts and humanitarian crises.
Amoroso earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of San Andrés and a Master's degree in Journalism. She began her career in print media, including the newspaper La Nación, and in arts and culture programs, before moving to television with the news channel Todo Noticias (TN). At TN, she became one of the channel's leading figures, hosting the newscast TN Internacional and the afternoon program, Está pasando. Her transition from cultural journalism to investigative journalism was a natural process driven by her passion for telling stories that truly matter.
Her international profile skyrocketed in 2022 when she became one of the first Argentine correspondents to cover the war in Ukraine following Russia's full-scale invasion, making multiple trips to the conflict zone. She has also extensively covered other complex situations, such as the migration crises in the Darién Gap (Panama) and the Mediterranean, and the political tensions in Venezuela. Her work in the Darién Gap was recognized with the FOPEA Award for in-depth journalism in 2022.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including three MartÃn Fierro Awards in various categories (Best Female Host, Best Female Journalist, and Best Reporter) and the Eikon Award for Communicator of the Year. Her commitment to truth and empathy is reflected in her work as a writer, where she has published books such as *Llorarás*, a collection of stories from the Venezuelan exile community. Today, her voice is an essential reference point for understanding the global agenda in Argentina.
