Who is Carolina Amoroso?
Carolina Amoroso is a prominent Argentine journalist, television host, and writer, recognized for her work as a war correspondent and her deep commitment to international journalism. Born in Brandsen in 1985, her nomadic childhood—which included living in Venezuela and Ecuador due to her father’s work—instilled in her an early sense of rootlessness and a passion for global issues, elements that define her professional career and her sensitivity when covering conflicts and humanitarian crises.
Amoroso earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of San Andrés and a master’s degree in Journalism. She began her career in print media, including the newspaper *La Nación*, and on arts and culture programs, before making the leap to television at the Todo Noticias (TN) network. At TN, she established herself as one of the network’s leading figures, hosting the TN Internacional newscast and the afternoon program Está pasando. Her transition from cultural journalism to hard-hitting journalism was a natural process driven by her passion for telling stories that truly matter.
Her international prominence skyrocketed beginning in 2022, when she became one of the first Argentine correspondents to cover the war in Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion, making multiple trips to the conflict zone. She has also extensively covered other complex situations, such as the migration crises in the Darién (Panama) and the Mediterranean, and the political tensions in Venezuela. Her work in the Darién was recognized with the FOPEA Award for in-depth journalism in 2022.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including three Martín Fierro Awards in different categories (Best Female Host, Best Female Journalism, and Best Columnist) and the Eikon Award for Communicator of the Year. Her commitment to truth and empathy is reflected in her work as a writer, where she has published books such as *Llorarás*, which compiles stories of Venezuelan exile. Today, her voice is an essential reference point for understanding the global agenda in Argentina.
