

Biography
Nuria Oliver is an engineer, researcher, inventor, consultant and executive. She holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
She is chief data scientist at the Data-Pop Alliance, a collaborative lab created by the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, MIT Connection Science and the Overseas Development Institute. She is also a senior scientific advisor at the Vodafone Institute. She is also co-founder and vice-president of ELLIS (The European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) and co-founder of the ELLIS Unit in Alicante, dedicated to human-centered artificial intelligence research. In addition, she was appointed commissioner of the President of the Valencian Community for the AI and Data Science Strategy to fight against COVID-19. She is co-inventor of multiple registered patents and a regular speaker at international conferences.
She has extensive research experience in the areas of modeling and predicting human behavior from data and human-computer interaction. She has been a researcher at Microsoft Research and has more than a hundred published scientific publications.
