The collapse of the San José mine occurred on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at around 2:30 p.m., leaving 33 miners trapped at a depth of 720 meters for 69 days.
Mario Sepulveda is a miner, electrical specialist and motivational speaker. He is a survivor, along with 32 other miners, of the collapse that trapped them for 70 days in the San José mine in Chile at a depth of 720 meters. His survival story is recognized worldwide.
In the days that the rescue lasted, he became the leader of the group. In 2015 his story was the inspiration for the movie "Los 33" in which he was played by Antonio Banderas. The rescue of the 33 is one of the largest and most successful in the history of mining worldwide, being the event with the greatest media coverage of these characteristics.
As a lecturer, he shares his experience and motivates people to improve themselves. He has a track record of participation in international events and organizations.
