Gabriel Rolón is a prominent Argentine psychoanalyst, writer, musician and thinker, universally recognized for his exceptional ability to disseminate complex concepts of Lacanian psychoanalysis through an accessible, emotional and deeply human narrative. Born in Ramos MejÃa, province of Buenos Aires, in 1961, he studied at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where he graduated and specialized in psychoanalysis, a discipline he has disseminated both through his clinical activity and his intense participation in the mass media.
His breakthrough as a literary and cultural phenomenon came with the publication of Historias de diván (2007), a bestseller that compiles accounts of real clinical cases, which was translated and published with great success throughout Latin America. This work demonstrated his expertise in combining the theoretical depth of analysis with captivating stories. His bibliography expanded with titles of great impact such as Palabras cruzadas, El duelo (a profound essay on grief and loss) and his successful novel Los padecientes, which was later made into a film.
Rolón achieved great popularity through radio and television. He collaborated for several years in Alejandro Dolina's emblematic late-night program La venganza será terrible. Subsequently, he consolidated his own brand with programs such as Noche de diván and Terapia (single session). Through these programs, Rolón has managed to bring psychological and existential topics such as love, loneliness, passion and happiness to mass audiences, positioning himself as a key figure in the dissemination of mental health in Latin America.
