Angélica Dass is a prominent Brazilian photographer and activist, known for her innovative photographic project "Humanae". Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1979, Dass grew up in a diverse and multicultural environment that profoundly influenced her artistic vision. She studied Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and continued her training in Photography at the School of Photography and Visual Arts in Madrid.
In 2012, Angelica Dass initiated "Humanae," a photographic project that aims to explore and challenge perceptions of race and skin color. Inspired by her own personal and family experience, Dass photographs people from around the world and matches their exact skin tone with a color from the Pantone system, creating a visual catalog that celebrates human diversity. This project has had a global impact, being exhibited at prestigious international institutions and events, such as the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Prado Museum in Madrid and the Venice Biennale.
Dass' work goes beyond fine art photography; it is a powerful tool for education and raising awareness about racism and equality. He has collaborated with numerous organizations and has given inspirational talks at conferences such as TED, where his talk has been seen by millions of people around the world.
