Jessica Barker is a consultant, executive, entrepreneur, author, researcher and speaker. She holds a BA in Social and Political Studies and an MA and PhD from the Department of Civic Design at the University of Liverpool. She is a leading expert in cyber security, governance, strategy and risk.
She is co-founder, partner and technical leader of Cygenta, a consulting firm dedicated to computer and network security. She is a consultant with extensive experience advising public and private institutions on information security. In addition, she designs learning programs and research projects, in particular analyzing consumer attitudes and behaviors regarding online security.
She is also an academic lecturer and a regular contributor to the media, including "Sky News", "The One Show", "BBC1" and "Cybercrimes with Ben Hammersley". She is the author of several books, including "Cybersecurity ABCs: Delivering awareness, behaviours and culture change".
