Jean Tirole is a French economist, who currently holds the position of Director of the Jean-Jacques Laffont Foundation - Toulouse School of Economics.
Jean Tirole is an economist, author and researcher. He studied economics at Paris-Dauphine University and holds a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He is director of the Jean-Jacques Laffont Foundation of the Toulouse School of Economics. He has published many scientific articles on Economics and Finance, as well as several books including: "The Theory of Industrial Organization, "Game Theory" (with Drew Fundenberg), "Competition in Telecommunications" (with Jean-Jacques Laffont) and "The Theory of Corporate Finance". His research focuses on the fields of industrial organization, regulation, game theory, banking and finance, psychology and economics, international finance and macroeconomics.
Among his recognitions, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics (2014) for his analysis of corporate power, competition and its regulation.
