David Hanson is a designer, researcher and entrepreneur. He holds a PhD in Interactive Arts and Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a BFA in animation from Rhode Island School of Design. He is a world leader in the development of humanized robots.
He is founder and CEO of Hanson Robotics, a company that aims to create robots that resemble humans and mimic biosystems, from cognition and social expression to locomotion. The company in charge created: Sophia the Robot, the walking Albert Hubo and Philip K Dick's android portrait, among others.
Among his many accolades, he has received awards from NASA, NSF and Cooper Hewitt Design and his work was highlighted by PC Magazine and WIRED.
