Who is Andy Kusnetzoff?
Andy Kusnetzoff is an Argentine journalist, producer, actor, and host, recognized as one of the most influential figures in contemporary Argentine radio and television. Born in Buenos Aires in 1970, his style is characterized by a blend of irreverence, depth, and sensitivity, which has allowed him to connect in a unique way with diverse audiences. He is the son of the famous sexologist Juan Carlos Kusnetzoff (“Dr. K”) and psychoanalyst Esther Buchholz, who have occasionally appeared on his shows.
After studying journalism at TEA School, Andy rose to fame on television in the late 1990s as a reporter for the iconic show *Caiga Quien Caiga* (CQC). In this role, his irreverence and edgy style quickly made him a hit. However, it was on the radio that he truly established himself as a broadcaster and opinion leader. In 2002, he created and began hosting Perros de la Calle, a show that became a true radio phenomenon. The program, which aired for nearly two decades on Radio Metro and is currently broadcast on Urbana Play FM, redefined the morning radio format with its mix of humor, intimate interviews, and topics of general interest.
On television, Kusnetzoff demonstrated his versatility by hosting a variety of shows, but his second major success was *PH, Podemos Hablar* (Telefe), a series that premiered in 2017 and became one of the most-watched shows during Saturday prime time. The PH format is distinguished by creating a “meeting place” where celebrities and public figures share anecdotes and profound reflections in a tone of vulnerability and intimacy, revealing a more sensitive side of Andy’s personality.
Throughout his career, Andy Kusnetzoff has been honored with numerous Martín Fierro Awards, including the Martín Fierro de Oro for Radio in 2018, cementing his status as an undisputed leader in the field. His ability to reinvent himself—evolving from a rebellious reporter to an empathetic host—and his commitment to producing quality content have established him as one of the most essential and respected voices in the Argentine media.
