Bernardo Hernández built his career on a solid academic background. He received a degree in Business Administration and Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid, and later complemented his education with a prestigious MBA from Georgetown University in the United States. This dual background in business and law provided him with an essential analytical and strategic foundation to navigate and lead the complex technology industry at an international level.
His career took off as a key figure in several successful technology startups. He co-founded Idealista, which consolidated its position as one of the most important real estate portals in Spain. He also participated in the creation of FloresFrescas.com, one of the first online flower sales companies in the country. This entrepreneurial spirit and his ability to identify opportunities in the digital market led him to be recruited by the world's leading technology company.
Hernandez held a number of senior positions at Google, one of the most significant stages of his career. His roles included Director of Marketing for Europe, Global Director of Emerging Products and, notably, Global Director of Google Maps. One of his main achievements was his direct involvement in the development and global expansion of Google Maps, a tool that became a universal navigation standard. In addition, he played a crucial role in the growth of other iconic Google initiatives, such as Google Earth and Google News.
After his influential stint at Google, he took on the challenge of being CEO of Flickr, the Yahoo-owned photography platform, where he led the effort to revitalize and modernize the service.
