Ann Makosinski is an inventor, entrepreneur, executive and speaker. She studied an undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of British Columbia and a graduate degree at the University of Victoria. She is recognized worldwide for her inventions based on sustainable energy.
She is CEO and founder of Makotronics Enterprises Inc. Awards for her inventions include: winning Quest Climate Grant investment (2016) for her inventions powered by human heat; winning the Google Science Fair with the Hollow Flashlight project, a thermoelectric flashlight (2014) and winning at the Intel Science and Engineering Fair (2015) with her invention eDrink, which regulates the cold/heat of beverages with electricity.
Among her recognitions, she was named as "Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30", "Times Magazine's 30 Under 30", "Glamour Magazine's College Women of the Year" and one of the young inventors of the year by "Popular Science". In addition, she was chosen as a brand ambassador for Uniqlo and has done campaigns for brands such as Converse and Lenovo.
