Ana Maiques is an economist, researcher and entrepreneur. She graduated in Economics at the University of Barcelona and holds an MBA from London Metropolitan University. Her research specializes in neuroscience.
She is co-founder and director of Neuroelectrics, an international company dedicated to finding therapies to alleviate neurological and neurodegenerative diseases and its methodology is a pioneer in combining two disciplines: brain electrostimulation and machine learning. In addition, in the Starlab Space division of Neuroelectrics, she develops innovative satellite applications that enable more efficient water and renewable energy management. She was also founder, executive director and CEO of Starlab and co-founder and CEO of Nanoelectronics.
Among other awards, she received the European Union Women Innovators Award (2014) and was selected to be part of the first advisory group of the European Innovation Council.
