He played in the best teams and the most important leagues in the world: the Argentine national league, the Italian league, the Euroleague and the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs. In the Argentine national team he is a reference and leader of the so-called Golden Generation. With the national team he won the South American Championship and the America Cup and won a silver medal at the FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis, the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens and the bronze medal in Beijing. He also achieved the fourth place in the FIBA World Championship in Japan and was included several times in the ideal five of the championship. After retiring, he developed different activities among which stands out his role as a motivational speaker.
He received many awards such as the Olimpia de Oro Award (2003 and 2004), the Konex de Brillante Award for the Best Athlete of the Decade in Argentina and was named Third Best Five of the NBA, Best Sixth Man of the NBA, among other achievements.
