Jon Maddog Hall is a teacher, consultant, speaker, writer and executive. He earned a bachelor's degree in business and engineering from Drexel University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a recognized and referential promoter of free software.
He is chairman of the board of the Linux Professional Institute and CEO of OptDyn, creators of the P2P cloud platform Subutai. He is also a consultant to governments around the world and has worked in numerous companies such as Western Electric Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and VA Linux Systems in coordination and programming positions. He has teaching experience at several universities including Hatford State Technical College.
Among the many accolades of his career, he was awarded for his services to the open source community at the UK Linux and Open Source Awards (2006).
